Medical Technologist - Core Lab - Evening Shift

Job Summary
Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing, including specimen preparation, phlebotomy, and quality control procedures, while calibrating and maintaining analytical equipment. Independently interpret test results to support disease diagnosis and treatment, ensuring accuracy through instrument troubleshooting and adherence to regulatory compliance and accreditation standards. Manage supply and reagent inventory to support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety protocols. Requires a Clinical Lab Scientist license and ASCP certification within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science
- Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license in the state of practice (if applicable) or within 180 days of hire
- ASCP, AMT or AAB generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Good judgement in performing duties and conflict resolution
- Good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in Louisiana (not in Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, or Washington D.C.)
