Job Summary
Conduct laboratory testing of blood and body fluid specimens using automated analyzers and manual methods. Verify critical results, enter data accurately, and perform quality control testing on reagents. Maintain and calibrate laboratory instrumentation, resolve equipment malfunctions, and complete scheduled maintenance. Train students and new employees, providing technical guidance to lab technicians and phlebotomists. Manage departmental inventory and coordinate day-to-day operations of the laboratory section during the evening shift.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution
- Previous medical technologist experience
- ASCP registration
- HEW registration
- NCA registration
- Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of LIS
