Job Summary
Perform routine and stat laboratory testing in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology while executing quality control procedures and troubleshooting out-of-range results. Interpret patient results, perform delta checks to identify discrepancies, and review pending reports to ensure timely turnaround. Process critical laboratory results according to established protocols and maintain accurate documentation of all testing activities. Assist with regulatory compliance initiatives, including CAP requirements, and support departmental operations when supervisory staff are unavailable. Work night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Current Florida State Medical Technologist license
- ability to obtain licensure during the interview process
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Medical Technologist
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and regulatory standards
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
- Night shift
- Rotating weekends
