Job Summary

Perform testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Microbiology in the Core Laboratory. Accurately conduct routine and automated/manual analyses, perform required Quality Control and Proficiency Testing, review patient reports during testing, monitor supply inventories, perform routine instrument maintenance, update Standard Operating Procedures, and report concerns to Laboratory Management. Requires a Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, or biological science, clinical laboratory training, CLIA/CAP/CLSI knowledge, and familiarity with Beckman Coulter, Abbott, and Siemens instruments; English communication skills; and the ability to work independently.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, or biological science or related science from an accredited college or university
  • Clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by ABHES, NAACLS, or other organization by HHS, or at least 3-months documented training in each specialty with high complexity testing
  • Working knowledge of CAP and CLIA regulations and CLSI procedure formats
  • Meet minimum CLIA requirements for High Complexity Testing Personnel
  • Major lab instrument familiarity (Beckman Coulter, Abbott, Siemens) preferred
  • ASCP or equivalent technical certification preferred
  • Five years’ experience in a licensed clinical laboratory may be substituted for ASCP registration
