Job Summary
Medical Technologist position responsible for performing patient and proficiency testing with related quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and testing. Maintains and reviews QC records, ensures adherence to policies, and documents actions taken. Identifies problems that may affect test performance or reporting and communicates with on-site technical leadership. May serve as on-site supervisor in the absence of other technical leadership. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related clinical science field, MLS/ASCP-AMT-AAB-NCA certification within 1 year of hire, and a minimum of 1 year hospital laboratory experience. Includes exposure to blood/body fluids and physical requirements such as walking, lifting, bending, and color discrimination. Location: Kingman, AZ, United States.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related clinical science field from an accredited institution or equivalent acceptable education as defined by CLIA
- Certification/Licensure: MLS (ASCP), AMT, AAB or NCA (formerly HEW) required within 1 year of hire
- Minimum of 1 year hospital laboratory experience
- Perform patient and proficiency testing with quality control, calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment
- Maintain records demonstrating proficiency testing samples are tested consistently
- Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document QC activities
- Identify and address problems affecting test performance or reporting; notify on-site technical leadership as needed
- May act as on-site supervisor in the absence of other technical leadership
- Exposure category I work environment involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues
- Frequent walking; occasional lifting 40-50 pounds; occasional bending; color vision requirements
