Job Summary
Perform laboratory tests and procedures requiring independent judgment with minimal supervision. Document daily QC and corrective actions, perform calibrations, linearity testing, and proficiency testing as required. Enter and verify laboratory results in the LIS, resolve technical testing problems involving methodology and instrumentation, and review test reports for accuracy and consistency. Assist with departmental personnel training and orientation, check supply inventory, and compile statistics. Maintain patient confidentiality and attend professional development activities. Requires an associate's degree in Medical Technology, NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician License, and experience as a Medical Technologist. Hourly pay ranges from $20 to $36.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related sciences, as approved by the accrediting agencies
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment, NYS permit accepted
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
- Requires visual acuity and normal color perception

Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a minimum of 90 semester hours in an accredited college which meets the specific requirements for entrance into, and the successful completion of an internship program for medical technology in an accredited institution
- ASCP or NCA
- 1+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist
