Job Summary
Conduct medical surgical care for patients with stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, and head injury cases while titrating heparin drips based on PTT. Manage house-wide telemetry using Philips monitors and provide high-flow oxygen to stable COVID patients only. Rotate with general unit staff for floating assignments and work every other weekend shifts with no call. Maintain Illinois licensure, 24 months of experience including 12 months in trauma level 1 and dedicated neuro units, and hold BLS and NIHSS certifications. Submit to this travel nursing assignment with 26-week expected length and night shift schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 24 months of experience
- 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience
- 12 months within the last 36 months
- Travel experience
- Trauma Level 1 experience
- Illinois license
- Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit
- Heparin titrated drip experience
- At least one reference from the same unit/specialty
- 2 Charge/Lead references from within the last 12 months
- Driver's license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- Every other weekend shifts
- Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend on both shifts
- Every other holiday
- No call
- Float in rotation with the rest of staff
- General unit travelers float to general unit floors and take a full team
- 14 days maximum time off
