Job Summary
Provide night coverage on the Medical Surgical Unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-6 during the day and 5-6 at night. Manage post-operative patients including knee, hip, shoulder, and thyroid procedures, alongside medical cases involving heart failure, pneumonia, and sepsis. Administer common drips such as heparin and PCAs while utilizing CNA support at a 1:10 ratio. Charge RN assignments may be full or modified. This 12-hour night shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three shifts per week, with no call and weekend rotation varying by team. Floating to like units or other departments is permitted.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years)
- Experience with Cerner
- Wisconsin license or compact license
- 2 years experience
- Driver's license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)

- Can float to like units and may float as a CNA to IMC, ICU, or ED
- Weekend requirements vary: sometimes every 3rd weekend, every other weekend, or none for full weekend teams
- 2/3 of winter holidays and every other holiday otherwise
- 14 days maximum time off
