Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2380 per week.

Job Summary
Conduct post-surgical and orthopedic patient care on Unit 1W and manage medical-surgical patients including pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, low-volume inpatient chemotherapy, and COVID patients on Unit 2E. Provide comfort measures using heparin and MSO4 while coordinating with respiratory therapy for BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow management. Float between Med-Surg units as needed, working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every-other-weekend rotation and two Fridays per schedule. Maintain a Pennsylvania or compact license, hold BLS certification, and ensure no artificial nails are worn. Submit to this travel-only role requiring a 50-mile distance from the facility and COVID vaccination, with self-scheduling flexibility and a maximum of 14 days time off.
Required Qualifications
- 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years)
- Pennsylvania license or compact license
- COVID vaccination
- 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine
- 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine
- No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine

- Must be comfortable with clean and dirty patients at the same time
- Must be comfortable with remote telemetry patients monitored by 3rd-floor monitor tech
- Must be comfortable with BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow managed by RT
- Must be comfortable with Heparin and possibly MSO4 used for comfort measures
- Must be comfortable with no cardiac gtts
- Must be comfortable with Nights having a resource nurse who takes a full patient assignment
- Must be comfortable with No CNAs on nights
- Must be comfortable with Holidays rotating with permanent staff
- Must be comfortable with Self-scheduling
- Must be comfortable with Every other weekend shifts
- Must be comfortable with Saturday and Sunday being weekend shifts
- Must be comfortable with Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule
- Must be comfortable with 14 days maximum time off
- Must be comfortable with Floating only to other Med-Surg units
- Must be comfortable with Blocked schedules allowed as long as unit needs are met
- Must be comfortable with Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers
Desired Qualifications
