Job Summary
Manage neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations on night shifts, performing or assisting with IV access, chest tube insertion, thoracentesis, and TPN administration. Provide skilled care including sequential compression devices, blood glucose monitoring, PCA machine management, and central line insertion while floating between Carle Health Methodist, Pekin, and Proctor hospitals as needed. Maintain a 12-hour shift schedule with weekend and holiday rotations, adhering to a maximum of seven days off and three consecutive days off. Submit clear acceptance within 24 hours of offer to secure the nine-week travel assignment starting September 2026.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience
- ASN completion
- Illinois license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Driver's license
- Registered license type
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 2 years
- Must be able to float to additional units and locations
- Must live >50 miles from facility
- Must be able to work weekend shifts
- Must be able to work holiday shifts
- Must be able to perform IV access (peripheral, central line, PICC, and/or Infusaport)
- Must be able to perform IM and SQ injections
- Must be able to perform chest tube insertion and management
- Must be able to manage sequential compression device
- Must be able to use blood glucose monitor
- Must be able to operate PCA machine
- Must be able to perform thoracentesis and paracentesis
- Must be able to manage TPN
- Must be able to manage thrombolytic therapy
- Must be able to manage Kangaroo pump
- Must be able to perform central line insertion
