Job Summary
Provide direct patient care on a neuro-focused rehab unit treating TBI, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputee, burn, and multi-trauma patients. Manage complex needs including trach care, vent care, IVs, PICCs, central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, and G-tube feeds. Perform phlebotomy support and monitor vital signs via centralized OxyNet, as no monitors are on the unit. Float within scope of practice across multiple units and support 1:6-7 nurse-to-patient ratios. Maintain KY license, BLS, and NIHSS certification. No call required; schedule includes every third weekend with some holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 6 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience
- Kentucky license or compact license
- COVID vaccination
- 1 year, at least 6 months of this needs to be neuro
- First-time travelers accepted with manager approval
- RTO requests go through manager
- Could float within scope of practice
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
- Proof of identification required
