Job Summary
Conduct Medical Surgical Unit coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, managing nurse-patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 during the day and 1:5 to 1:6 at night. Handle common cases including total joint replacements, spinal surgery, urology, abdominal procedures, and bariatrics, while assisting with frequent hemovac drains, JP drains, and colostomies. Utilize remote telemetry packs with monitor tech for strip interpretation and support staff for up to 12 patients. Work every other weekend with holidays as needed, ensuring a maximum of 7 days off per 13-week contract. Maintain a North Dakota license, hold BLS certification, and provide a Charge/Lead reference from the last 12 months.
Required Qualifications
- 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years)
- North Dakota license or compact license
- Must live >50 miles from facility
- 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health
- 12 months gap required between for Part-Time at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health
- 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health
- No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - (Midwest) CommonSpirit Health
- Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained
- RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract)
- Driver's license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Epic is preferred
- Surgical, post-op, and early ambulation experience preferred
