Job Summary
Conduct medical-surgical care for adult and geriatric patients on a mixed med-surg/PCU unit, managing procedures including Foleys, PICCs, IVs, antibiotics, chest tubes, paracentesis, PD, and LPs. Provide float coverage to lower acuity units and different units within the OSU organization as needed. Manage patients with general medicine issues, opioid abuse, organ failure, and behavior challenges. Maintain a BLS and IV Therapy certification. Complete pre-employment modules and submit references covering at least one year of relevant experience. Submit a clear acceptance response within 24 hours to secure the auto-offer.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 10 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience
- Ohio license or compact license
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- IV Therapy Certification (Intravenous Therapy Certification)
- Travel experience
- Experience with Epic
- Schedule: weekdays and some weekends
- Rotating between day 07:00-19:00 and night 19:30-7:30 shifts
- Float to lower acuity units and different units within the OSU organization as needed
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
- 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
- Proof of identification required
- You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing
- 14 days maximum time off
- Start assignment restriction: 7 days
