Job Summary
Provide night shift coverage on a medical surgical neuro unit, managing patients with Parkinson's, stroke, lumbar, and similar cases. Float to Med Surg and Progressive units as needed. Handle charge duties or learn to assume charge responsibilities. Work 36 or 48 hours per week, including every other full weekend and at least one major holiday. Maintain a Missouri or compact license, hold BLS and NIHSS certifications, and provide two charge/lead references from the last 12 months. Submit time off requests at application; up to five days per 13 weeks may be approved automatically. This travel assignment requires a 12-month gap from the HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO) and begins ASAP.
Required Qualifications
- 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience
- Missouri license or compact license
- COVID vaccination
- 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO) and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO)
- 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO) and no current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Mercy (MO)
- Charge experience, or willingness to learn and take on charge duties
- Neuro and stroke experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- Driver's license
- Every other full weekend is required
- Saturday and Sunday will be required unless otherwise approved prior to confirmation
- Candidates should expect to work at least one major summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day) or one winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)
- Customary floating to Med Surg and Progressive
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
Desired Qualifications
- 3 months of Epic experience is preferred
