Job Summary
Provide bedside shift reports including patients and family members in the plan of care on the Neuro Med/Surg unit. Perform start IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes. Utilize IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology. Work three 12-hour night shifts per week with two weekends off on a 13-week contract. Submit all time off requests at application and coordinate scheduling requests directly with the manager upon arrival.
Required Qualifications
- 24 months of experience worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 9 months within the last 12 months
- 9 months of acute care experience within the last 12 months
- Tennessee license or compact license
- Driver's license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
- Must live >50 miles from facility
- Must be available for travel only (local not allowed)
- Must be able to float to additional units and locations
- Must be able to work 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM shift
- Must be able to work 3 12-hour shifts per week
- Must be able to work 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Must be able to work night shift
