Job Summary
Assist with orientation and onboarding of newly hired clinical staff and new graduate nurses, serving as a resource and coach to preceptors. Support competency validation, tracking, and annual activity coordination for unit staff while delivering continuing education, just-in-time training, and in-service programs using evidence-based methods. Provide direct patient care, maintaining clinical competency and modeling professional behavior consistent with Emory Healthcare standards. Collaborate with unit leadership, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate educational activities and participate in shared governance councils. Promote evidence-based practice through targeted education interventions and data collection aligned with Magnet standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- Foundational knowledge of adult learning principles and their application in clinical education settings
- Strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills with ability to engage diverse learners
- Ability to function collaboratively within a team and under the mentorship of the NPD Practitioner
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Commitment to personal professional development and progression within the NPD career pathway
- Awareness of ANPD Scope and Standards of Practice with willingness to develop applied proficiency
- Less than 10% of the time may be required between clinical sites
- On-site; primarily unit-based with protected time designated for education-related responsibilities
- Medium (Max 25 lbs): up to 25 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly)
- Lifting 25 lbs max
- Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs

Desired Qualifications
- MSN degree in Nursing
- Prior experience in precepting, staff mentorship, education, or unit-based leadership
- ACLS and/or PALS if applicable
- Specialty certification recommended
- Active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire. Employees in role prior to 11/09/2025 will have until their next renewal date to achieve compact status
