Job Summary
Conduct night shift coverage on a medical surgical or telemetry unit, managing adult and geriatric patients with conditions including COPD exacerbations and infections. Perform vital signs monitoring, pain assessment, intake/output tracking, and telemetry checks while administering medications via various routes and managing IV therapy. Execute wound care basics, Foley catheter insertions, and specimen labeling under RN support. Maintain isolation precautions and communicate status changes to the charge nurse or physician. Requires 12 months of MedSurg/Telemetry experience, New York licensure, and Epic proficiency. Available for every other weekend and holidays with maximum 10 consecutive days off.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience
- Travel experience
- Experience with Epic
- New York license
- Must be able to take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN

- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 2 years

- Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
- Maximum consecutive days off: 10
- Adult and geriatric medical patient population including COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive, and social issues
- Patient ratios: Days 1:5-6; nights/weekends 1:6
