Job Summary
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN) on a Neuro/Oncology-focused unit. Responsibilities include assessing patients, developing and communicating a Plan of Care, coordinating with the healthcare team, evaluating patient outcomes, educating patients and families, acting as a preceptor to new staff, and serving as Charge Nurse. Requires BSN preferred, CT RN licensure, and BLS. Oncology nursing experience highlighted; department specialty in cancer care with solid tumors. Location: Smilow Ambulatory Multispecialty Department, Center, TX. Provides care across Neuro, Breast, GYN, and related oncology services; utilizes EMR and supports high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing; BSN Preferred.
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
- Proficient In Use Of Computer Software To Include Electronic Patient Records
- Oncology experience preferred (Smilow Ambulatory Multispecialty Department)
- RN responsibilities include assessment, care planning, coordination, education, precepting, charge nurse duties, neuro patient care, airway management of neuro patient, tracheostomy suctioning, care for ventilated patient
- Experience in Neuro Surgery/Neuro procedures would be beneficial
