Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN)

Assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Develop, communicate, and document individualized plans of care involving the patient, family, and healthcare team. Implement and coordinate care while evaluating effectiveness and readiness for discharge. Plan education based on individual learning needs and function as a preceptor to new staff. Demonstrate competency in neuro patient care, including airway management, tracheostomy suctioning, ventilator management, and halo brace usage. Provide supervision of non-RN personnel and assume charge nurse responsibilities when required. Requires a valid Connecticut RN license, BLS certification, and oncology experience. Located at Smilow Ambulatory Multispecialty Department YSC, serving oncology and neuro surgery patients.
