Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN)

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse role providing comprehensive inpatient care on acute care units with telemetry, including neuro-focused assessments and interventions. Responsibilities include assessing patients' physical and psychosocial conditions, developing and documenting individualized plans of care, implementing and coordinating care with the healthcare team, evaluating patient responses and readiness for discharge, and educating patients and families. The RN may serve as preceptor to new staff and as charge nurse, ensuring high levels of service, teamwork, resource utilization, and adherence to unit policies. Required skills include neuro assessment, airway management of neuro patients, tracheostomy care, and familiarity with ventilator care, as well as experience with Halo braces and related equipment; ability to document in electronic health records and participate in ongoing performance development in a patient-centered, respectful care environment.
