Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN)

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse on a care unit within Smilow Ambulatory Multispecialty Department (oncology-focused). Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and supervising patient care; supervising non-RN personnel; acting as charge nurse; providing neuro-focused assessments and care (neuro patient competencies, airway management, tracheostomy care, and ventilator care); nursing education for patients and families; coordinating with the healthcare team to develop and adjust plans of care; ensuring high-quality service and adherence to unit policies; and contributing to a multidisciplinary cancer-care approach across solid tumor cancer treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies. Requires BSN preferred, valid RN license, and BLS certification, with oncology nursing experience highlighted as a current specialty area. Responsibilities also include precepting new staff and participating in various departmental roles and educational activities.
