Job Summary
Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical units at Yale New Haven Hospital (Saint Raphael Campus), supporting Adult Acute Care Medicine with Telemetry, Renal, and Palliative Specialty units. Responsibilities include assessing patients’ physical and psychosocial conditions, developing and documenting individualized plans of care, coordinating with the healthcare team, providing education to patients and families, and serving as a preceptor and charge nurse. Requires supervision of non-RN staff, adherence to unit policies, and potential assignment to other nursing units as needed. Promotes patient-centered care and aligns with organizational values (integrity, respect, accountability, compassion). Preferred BSN; CT RN license and BLS required. May demonstrate competency in neuro-focused procedures and care, ventilator management, tracheostomy care, and related educational programs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
- Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
- Proficient in use of Computer Software including Electronic Patient Records
