Job Summary
Provide postoperative surgical care and general medical-surgical nursing on 12-hour night shifts with a patient ratio of 1:5 to 6. Manage trauma cases involving fractures and utilize CPAP, heated high-flow, and telemetry monitoring equipment. Float to additional similar medical-surgical floors if needed. Requires 24 months of orthopedic unit experience with 12 months in the last 36 months, an Illinois license, and a driver's license. No call schedule with every other weekend rotation.
Required Qualifications
- 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years)
- Illinois license
- Postop surgical care and general med surg care
- Driver's license
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Registered license type
- At least one reference from the same unit/specialty as the job
- 2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
- Every other weekend; for night shift, weekends are Fri/Sat
- No call
- 12 hr days and 12 hr nights
- Nurse: patient ratios: 1:4-5 on 12 hr days and 1:5-6 on 12 hr nights
- Floating to additional units and locations
- Local & travel allowed
- 14 days maximum time off
- 13 weeks contract length
