Job Summary
Manage adult and geriatric oncology patients with diagnoses including breast, lung, and pancreatic cancer, performing IV starts, arterial line management, blood product administration, and assisting with chest tube insertion. Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and high-flow nasal cannula needs while monitoring cardiac status during chemotherapy. Float between equivalent or lower acuity Med Surg Oncology units as needed. Requires 22 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience, 12 months total RN experience, and current Epic proficiency. Complete labs within 48 hours of signing and submit a clear acceptance response within 24 hours. Auto-offer position with no interview; references and BLS certification required.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 22 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience
- Travel experience is preferred
- Experience with Epic is required
- Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license
- 6 months gap required between for Any Contract Type at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
- Minimum 2 years RN experience required
- Acute care experience must be current/today (and working consistently in the last 12 months) and must be in the specialty with which they are applying
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Accessing ports
- Arterial line management
- Blood product administration
- Central line care/management
- PICC line management
- IV start
- Assist with chest tube insertion/removal
- High flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- Interpretation of ABGs
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years
- You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing
- Cannot apply to any James Cancer Hospital & Research facilities if you have an active application to any Ohio State University facilities
- 1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
- 1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
- Proof of identification required
