Job Summary
Perform Apheresis procedures autonomously in critical care, emergency rooms, and outpatient centers, including plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and stem cell harvests. Assess patient status relative to therapeutic apheresis using the nursing process and laboratory results, while acting as a consultant to external healthcare personnel. Coordinate treatments with physicians and nurses across various hospitals, evaluate medication compatibility, and manage supplies and equipment. Work variable 1st shift Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with rotating on-call duties. Full COVID-19 vaccination required.
Required Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience
- Two years of experience in medical/surgical or critical care nursing
- Good vein selection and venipuncture skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively discuss procedures and medical issues with patients, families, and physicians
- A current, valid driver's license
- A good driving record
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19

- Previous apheresis or dialysis experience
