Job Summary
Provide 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) in a Medical Surgical Float Pool, rotating through units including Trauma Surgical, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, and Oncology. Manage patient care with a 1:4 ratio, performing IV starts, wound care, telemetry interpretation every four hours, and assisting with ADLs. Utilize Cerner or Epic, Plum 360 pumps, and Omnicell systems while maintaining strict documentation standards. This travel-only assignment requires an Alabama license, 18 months of MedSurg experience, and a six-month gap from prior SimpliFi Program placements. No call is provided, with flexible contract hours of 36 or 48 weeks per cycle.
Required Qualifications
- 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months
- 18 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience
- Experience with Cerner
- Alabama license or compact license
- Must be able to float to multiple units
- Must live >60 miles from facility
- 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB
- Minimum of 18 months of MedSurg and/or ICU experience
- Epic or Cerner experience required
- If strictly ICU experience, Cerner is required
- At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience

- Must be able to work flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week
- Must be able to work every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month
- Must be able to work no call schedule
- Must be able to work 4-week schedule cycle
- Must be able to float to like units/patient locations: MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds
