Job Summary
Orthopedic Surgeon in the U.S. Army Medical Department delivering advanced orthopedic procedures and participating in bone and tissue research, humanitarian missions, and leadership training. The role supports Soldiers’ care with access to comprehensive benefits and opportunities. Required: MD/DO from a U.S. or eligible foreign school, current U.S. medical license, board eligibility, completion of an orthopedic surgery training program, internship, and U.S. citizenship. Based in Boston, MA as part of the Army Medical Department’s clinical team.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
- Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
- Eligibility for board certification
- Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
- Completion of a training program in orthopedic surgery
- U.S. citizenship
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers granted on a case-by-case basis)
