Job Summary

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) determines donor eligibility, manages donor adverse events, reviews lab test results (SPE), and notifies donors of unsuitable results. Works under Center Manager/Assistant Manager and Center Physician guidance; familiar with plasma collection regulations and EHS; supports vaccination programs and occupational health; may act as Pandemic Coordinator as directed. Responsibilities include informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, donor safety, and adherence to SOPs for emergencies and donor transport. Sign-on bonus offered; location at BioLife Plasma Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Qualifications include RN/NP/PA licensure, CPR/AED, basic IV therapy requirements, and FDA training; two years clinical/hospital experience. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of a recognized nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • CPR and AED certification
  • fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
