Job Summary
Medical Support Professional oversees medical/dental and medication-related activities for residents under the supervision of the program nurse and management; schedules medical/dental appointments with the program nurse; may serve as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) part-time or as needed; responsibilities include medication inventory, MAR verification, bowel movement monitoring, chart reviews, prescription matching, appointment coordination, and ensuring documentation and reporting are completed timely. Requires attention to medication management, record-keeping, communication, and basic math; licensure/certification such as CNA or DSP is considered; NYS driver license preferred but not required; flexible work schedule offered with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or Direct Support Professional (DSP) certificate from an accredited organization will be considered.
- Two years or more work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
