Job Summary
Coordinate care between VA and community providers by scheduling appointments, tracking cases, and managing pre- and post-appointment contacts. Process community care consults via HealthShare Referral Manager and Provider Profile Management System while validating patient demographics and updating the Computerized Patient Record System. Screen and answer telephone inquiries within five rings, monitor faxes and voicemail, and resolve patient complaints as a Patient Relations Representative. Open and close clinics daily, ensuring all patients are identified with appropriate two identifiers and maintaining zero privacy breaches. Complete an average minimum of 20 cases per day while maintaining proficiency in VA software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance
- US Citizenship required
- Must be a resident of the United States and reside within 50 miles of the Sheridan VA Medical Center
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Oral and written proficiency in English
- Basic computer skills with daily proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
- Basic medical terminology knowledge
- Minimum 6 months of customer service experience
- No health or physical disability restrictions that would interfere with the performance of assigned duties
Desired Qualifications
- Prior VA or federal healthcare administrative experience is preferred
