Job Summary
Medical Supply Coordinator responsible for procurement, coordination, tracking, and compliance of home-health medical supplies. Serves as the primary liaison between clinicians, patients, office staff, insurance providers, and third-party medical supply vendors to ensure timely delivery of medically necessary supplies while maintaining regulatory and reimbursement compliance. Requires experience in wound care supply management, EMR and vendor portal proficiency, and knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/managed care and private insurance guidelines for home health wound care supplies and surgical dressings. Key duties include processing and monitoring wound care supply orders, coordinating delivery schedules, verifying order accuracy, handling insurance coverage determinations and prior authorizations, maintaining clinical documentation and regulatory compliance, coordinating with clinicians and vendors, providing patient education on supply delivery, and monitoring inventory and cost controls.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or healthcare-related certification preferred
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in medical supply coordination, wound care supply management, DME, healthcare intake or insurance verification
- Experience with wound care products and dressing categories (Alginates, Hydrocolloids, Foam dressings, Collagen dressings, Antimicrobial dressings, Hydrofiber dressings, NPWT)
- Proficiency with EMR systems and vendor portals
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance guidelines related to home health wound care supplies and surgical dressings
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to verify orders, manage insurance verifications, and ensure regulatory compliance
