Job Summary
Process provider applications for credentialing and attend designated medical staff department and committee meetings. Take meeting minutes, interpret data from written or schedule forms, and resolve standard problems using established options. Prioritize assignments while adhering to Medical Staff Bylaws, Joint Commission, CMS, and Title 22 regulations. Communicate professionally with physicians, patients, and team members to ensure compliance and maintain patient privacy. Work independently with multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- 2 years recent relevant experience
- Knowledge of various medical terminology, procedures, views, and equipment
- Organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work at several projects simultaneously
- Experience in communicating negative information and gaining the cooperation of physicians in a professional manner for compliance purposes
- Experience in all aspects of meeting preparation, including meeting minute taking
- Written and verbal communications skills
- Advanced knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and related information systems
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Medical Staff Standards
