Job Summary
Medical Staff Consultant responsible for the daily operations of Genesis HealthCare System's Medical Staff Services Department (MSSD) to develop, manage, and monitor processes and procedures that support the organized medical staff and its committees, service lines and/or departments to ensure compliance with medical staff governing documents and state/federal requirements and accreditation standards. Represents administrative issues to influence collaboration between physicians and hospital management; collaborates with the Credentials Verification Office to implement credentialing policies and criteria; prepares for and attends medical staff meetings; ensures compliance with bylaws, rules and regulations; maintains minutes and agendas; supports policy development, credentialing activities, and communications; oversees the dues process; supports professional development and newsletters; and performs other duties as assigned while upholding confidentiality and patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Three (3) years office, health care or other relevant experience required
- Excellent communication skills involving speaking to groups of people
- Knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal rules and requirements related to employment, preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, analytical facilitation, conflict resolution and investigative skills
- Demonstrated excellence with listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing working environment
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of computer software, including programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
