Job Summary
Monitor potential head injuries by communicating with the Venue Medical Director and alerting supervisors of incidents requiring medical attention. Assist the concussion protocol process by providing written information and video clips to Club Player Health and Performance staff. Recognize visual signs of potential head injuries per MLS guidelines and complete post-match forms for every clipped video or incident. Maintain availability for a minimum of 40 matches per season, working nights and weekends based on game day schedules. Compensation is $250 per match with overtime eligibility. This seasonal role supports the MLS Spotter program through December 2026 at the Arlington, TX location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree from an accredited CAATE athletic training education program
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a certified athletic trainer (ATC) or sports medicine experience with equivalent or higher education
- Current NATABOC certification
- Current state licensure in practicing state
- Understanding of head injuries and management
- Recognition of observable signs of potential head injury
- Ability to communicate clearly, whether written or verbal, as it pertains to the observed visual signs of the MLS Spotter program
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent note taking
- Be available for a minimum of 40 matches per season
- Ability to work nights and weekends based on game day schedules
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical rules for the sport of soccer
- Knowledge of soccer competition rules
- Previous experience communicating with medical doctors (MD) and doctor of osteopathy (DO)
- Knowledge of 8by8, HeadCheck Health, Smartsheet, Slack, Excel, and other software programs
