Job Summary
Medical Simulators Instructor/Operator for the Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) at JBLM, WA. Responsible for designing and delivering high-fidelity medical simulation training, using moulage and special effects to recreate realistic battlefield and civilian medical scenarios. Instructs Soldiers across EMT/NREMT levels and CLS programs, develops/maintains Training Support Packages and lesson plans, supports event planning and AARs, and utilizes simulation platforms and other advanced learning methods. Must meet instructor qualifications for the specific courses taught and work within defined student ratios; orientation to AMEDD materials and TC 8-800 series training, with strong emphasis on safety, confidentiality, and collaboration with training units. The role requires classroom and field training delivery, familiarity with computer systems and MS Office, and a U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a Contractor CAC.
Required Qualifications
- Current National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) with EMT or higher
- Current license as Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant or Physician
- Basic Life Support-Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification
- TC 8-800 (all tables) or most current TC3 instructor course offered by AMEDD; annual skills validation
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain Contractor CAC
- Former 68W or 18D NCO Advanced Leader Course graduate OR former Navy NEC 8404 or Navy Independent Duty Corpsman E-6 OR former Air Force 4NOX1 or Aerospace Medical Service E-6 or above
- Knowledge of staff positions required to establish and operate program sites; proficient with computers and Microsoft Office
- Combat experience preferred in 68W/18D/NEC 8404/4NOX1
- Current provider/instructor level certification in PALS, ALS, ACLS, PHTLS, ITLS (preferred)
- Experience in instructing and education methodology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn latest emergency medical techniques and technology
- Must maintain confidentiality of student/employee information
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds when required
