Job Summary
Greet patients, obtain demographic and insurance information, and establish accounts while ensuring accurate patient identification and privacy compliance. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances, then scan documents to confirm and update system records. Coordinate with referring physicians and the scheduling department to review referrals, acquire previous reports for comparison, and manage medical record requests. Maintain patient flow by providing excellent customer service, answering telephone inquiries, and assisting patients before, during, and after appointments. This role supports the American College of Radiology's RIMI diagnostic imaging network, which has been recognized as a Center of Excellence and a Healthiest Employer in Rhode Island for over 80 years.
Required Qualifications
- Must be willing to travel
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be familiar with medical terminology
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual Spanish
- Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with patients who may be under physical and/or emotional stress, referring physicians, staff, the Radiologist, and fellow employees
- Organizational and analytical skills to compile and interpret data
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of a School of Medical Secretarial Sciences program preferred
