Job Summary
Schedule patient visits, treatments, and procedures; manage waitlists and handle phone calls, faxes, and mail. Obtain authorizations, process prescription refills, and initiate pre-authorizations or appeals. Communicate with patients regarding upcoming appointments, referrals, and authorization status while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Manage physician calendars, release medical records, and distribute documents via paper and electronic records. Train staff on registration policies and participate in special projects. Maintain cleanliness of patient spaces and restock supplies. Collaborate with the Patient Access Center and Central Billing Office to ensure seamless care continuity.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- one year of prior physician practice experience
- knowledge of medical terminology
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects and assignments
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
