Medical Secretary - Acute Ambulatory Care Unit

Job Summary
Facilitate efficient clinic operations by processing referrals, triaging and scheduling appointments, coordinating tests and visits, maintaining patient records in the Electronic Patient Record, and supporting check-in/check-out and patient communications. Serve as the front-line representative of the clinic, ensuring accurate demographics, health card validation, and timely information delivery to patients, families, and providers; collaborate with the clinical team to align schedules, room assignments, and workflow, while contributing to process and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Office Administration diploma required
- 2 years’ experience working in an ambulatory clinic, preferably in a hospital setting
- Experience with electronic systems, such as an Electronic Patient Record
- Strong MS Office application skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in an inter-professional team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of Women’s College Hospital
