Job Summary

Document patient data into electronic health records during visits, retrieve necessary information, and ensure coding accuracy. Assist providers with exam room preparation, patient rooming, and procedure setup while gathering data and obtaining medical images. Under direct supervision, enter medical orders into the CPOE system, manage prescriptions, and assist with injections, dressings, and sutures. Handle clinical paperwork, supply inventory, and coordinate imaging studies and injections. Maintain accurate patient information and comply with all regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 or more hours per day)
Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents
Ability to lift and carry office supplies or files weighing up to 20 pounds
Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents
Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly
Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer)
Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines
Ability to complete job required training
Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
Ability to demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
Ability to work in the clinic during business hours
Ability to travel independently throughout the clinic
Ability to work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner
Ability to prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to understand and execute a variety of instructions
Ability to effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system

Ability to act as a prescribing delegate to enter medical orders (i.e. medications, laboratory services, imaging studies and other auxiliary services into the computerized provider order entry (CPOE) into patient electronic records under the direct supervision of the provider)
Ability to assist with medical supply inventory and ordering
Ability to assist in clinical related paperwork including disability forms, referrals, etc.
Ability to assist with returning patient telephone calls
Ability to schedule imaging studies and injections
Ability to ensure accuracy of patient information entered into system
Ability to follow coding requirements during entry of patient information
