Job Summary
The Scribe is responsible for capturing accurate and detailed documentation of the patient visit into the EMR in a timely manner, assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures, directing patient flow, inventory management, and ensuring DOH-regulated lab compliance. Provides exceptional customer service, adheres to established protocols, and manages volume without compromising quality. This role offers exposure to CNA/MA/EMT/Paramedic career pathways and serves as a resume-building entry into healthcare professions. Responsibilities include assisting with diagnostic tests, coordinating referrals, escorting patients to exam rooms and imaging, maintaining a clean and professional environment, and ensuring site readiness with supplies. Requires the ability to work a full-time schedule (including weekends), strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate, team-oriented approach.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner
- Flexible with full-time work schedule including a weekend day
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- English language (speaking and writing) skills required
- High attention to detail
- Must exhibit passion for outstanding results and compassion for those we work with and serve
- Team player
- Knowledge of third-party payor requirements preferred
- Strong aptitude for detail, and ability to work independently, required
- Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills required
- Computer Proficiency
- Happy and positive thinking, able to project this attitude around others
- Flexible & adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment
- Passion for helping others in an urgent care environment
- BLS certification required at time of hire
- Physical requirements: lifting may be required, fast-paced environment
