Medical Scribe (Full-time) - Bilingual Cantonese/Mandarin

Job Summary
Document patient encounters and clinical information for providers while updating diagnosis codes and maintaining accurate records. Send, verify, and follow up on prescriptions, monitor complex cases, and communicate updates as needed. Assist with patient intake, perform EKGs, place heart monitors, and support administrative functions including insurance verification, medical records preparation, and scheduling. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements while providing compassionate support to patients and the clinical team. This onsite role at Southern California Heart Center requires full-time availability Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, CPT and ICD coding, and HIPAA regulations
- Strong computer and typing skills, with a typing speed of 60+ WPM
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Desired Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of medical scribing experience preferred
- Fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin strongly preferred
- Completion of a medical scribe certificate program
- Experience with medical transcription
