Job Summary
Document medical visits and procedures in real-time during provider encounters, capturing history, physical exams, clinical data, lab results, and treatment plans into the electronic medical record. Act as an extension of the provider by anticipating needs to facilitate patient flow, while scheduling appointments and entering lab information for follow-up. Collaborate with support staff to ensure records are complete, review documentation for accuracy, and collect data for Meaningful Use and clinic performance reporting. Maintain positive patient interactions and comply with legal and ethical standards for patient information protection.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Computer literate
- Able to type 50 words per minute
- Able to communicate with others to effectively convey information
- Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patients and employee base
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Close vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a clinic or healthcare setting including familiarity with medical terms
