Job Summary

Rare Disease Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in the North East Region acts as a liaison with regional and national thought leaders to discuss research, medical information, and facilitate clinical trials and investigator-sponsored studies. Field-based role delivering non-promotional scientific education, collaborating with Medical Affairs and Medical Information, developing regional territory plans, and identifying unmet medical needs. Responsibilities include engaging with regional/national experts, identifying research sites, supporting company-sponsored and ISS trials, contributing to medical publications and speaker training, and representing Ipsen at medical congresses. Requires extensive cross-functional collaboration, scientific training delivery, and travel to sites and events; must maintain scientific expertise in rare diseases and oncology/hematology domains and adhere to regulatory guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral level in the sciences required (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, DPT, Nursing or equivalent)
  • 3-5 years related work experience
  • Minimum 2 years Rare Disease MSL experience preferred
  • Experience with product launches and life cycle management
  • Ability to travel (50-70%)
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent planning, presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate medical information clearly
  • Knowledge of PhRMA, OIG, and other guidelines relating to compliant medical communications
