Job Summary
Develop and maintain relationships with academic and community research thought leaders and healthcare providers within the assigned geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product, and Health Economics and Outcomes Research-related questions. Actively assess the medical landscape by meeting with stakeholders to understand their needs, continuously update knowledge in treatment strategies and clinical trials, and identify opportunities to partner on disease state initiatives and investigator-sponsored research. Serve as the medical resource for external stakeholders by providing scientific support at promotional meetings, attending congress activities, and facilitating research projects. Support clinical trial activities by identifying potential study sites, evaluating feasibility, and ensuring investigators understand Pharmacovigilance procedures. Contribute to geography-specific Field Medical and Thought Leader Interaction plans and communicate medical insights back to internal organizations to support strategy development.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in medical/biosciences (i.e., MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP, PA-C, etc.)
- Minimum 3-5 years of MSL or clinical practice experience
- Current MSL or clinical practice experience in psychiatry, mental health or schizophrenia with proven track record of establishing, maintaining, and enhancing effective and successful collegial relationships with external experts
- Ability to drive a BMS-provided vehicle between locations
- High level of ethics, integrity, and a responsible and safe driving history
- Excellent English language skills, spoken and written
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of a scientific or clinical area, competitive landscape and patient treatment trends
- Knowledge of clinical trial design and process
- Knowledge of the national healthcare and access environment
- Knowledge of HEOR core concepts
- Minimum 3-5 years of MSL and/or clinical practice experience
- Ability to work independently and act as a team player
- Translating scientific or clinical data into an understandable and valuable form to help physicians best serve their patients
- Good communication and presentation skills to present scientific and/or clinical data to research or healthcare professionals
- Developing peer-to-peer relationships with Thought Leaders, scientists and community-based HCPs
- Ability to quickly and comprehensively learn about new subject areas and environments
