Job Summary
Manage key opinion leader optometrists and ophthalmologists in the Southwest region, ensuring compliant conduct per PhRMA and Tarsus guidelines. Serve as the primary medical affairs point of contact for day-to-day needs, facilitating both virtual and live scientific exchanges. Collect actionable insights from field interactions to shape medical strategy and provide whole practice education to optometric and ophthalmic centers. Plan and attend scientific sessions at local, regional, and national meetings while liaising with medical societies and presenting evidence to the payer community. Host disease state scientific exchanges and "lid+lash labs," and participate in cross-functional training and KOL meetings. Support clinical trials as needed and manage territory budget, metrics, KOL mapping, and CRM entries. Travel 60-80% of the time within Southern California, Nevada, and Hawaii.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate of optometry, or MD, PharmD, PhD with eye care expertise
- 3+ years of experience as a medical science liaison in eye care
- 3+ years of clinical experience in eyecare with at least one year of industry experience
- 7+ years of clinical practice in eyecare
- 4+ years of previous MSL experience (Senior level)
- Doctorate of optometry, or MD, PharmD, PhD with eye care expertise required
- Must be able to travel 60-80% of the time
- Must live in assigned territory
- Preference for candidates residing within 45 minutes of a major airport / major metropolitan area
Desired Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a medical science liaison in eye care is preferred
- 3+ years of clinical experience in eyecare with at least one year of industry experience
- 7+ years of clinical practice in eyecare
- Senior level exists for those with 4+ years of previous MSL experience
- Ideally located in: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, or Las Vegas
