Job Summary
Schedule various medical appointments, including on-site clinic visits and off-site specialist appointments, as recommended by medical staff. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records by entering consultation requests into the system and managing patient information. Effectively communicate with healthcare staff, patients, and other relevant parties regarding appointments, scheduling changes, and medical information while adhering to security protocols, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations. Utilize computer systems for scheduling, data entry, and report generation, often handling large volumes of data.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Prior training in a medical office setting scheduling medical appointments and working with medical records, strongly preferred
- A working knowledge of medical terminology and various types of medical specialties
- Experience utilizing computer systems for scheduling, data entry, and report generation, often handling large volumes of data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills
- Demonstrate skills in accuracy and multi-tasking with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to customer service throughout the scheduling and claims process
- Demonstrate a high comfort level in working with large volumes of data
- Maintain confidentiality when managing medical records, patient data and NaphCare processes
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
