Medical Resource Parent Support Worker

Job Summary
Provide direct support, consultation, and coaching to Medical Resource Parents to address the medical, emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of foster children in home, school, and community settings. Proactively partner with parents to ensure safety and stability, identifying challenges that jeopardize placement and implementing mitigation strategies. Deliver face-to-face support at least twice monthly, with initial contact within 48 hours of new placements and intensive support during crises. Train parents on trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions and ensure routine medical and dental care is maintained with proper documentation. Collaborate with Case Managers and healthcare providers to secure necessary services and update Individualized Medical Treatment Plans. Manage transportation needs for children and provide 24/7 on-call crisis management on a rotating basis.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling or Child Development
- at least 1year experience working with children
- Experience working with families and children in community-based and home-based settings
- Current PA Child Abuse, FBI and Criminal Clearances
- child abuse clearances from any state lived in the past 5 years
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to perform arithmetical calculations
- Ability to use excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to use telephone, voice mail, copier, facsimile machine, calculator and other office equipment
- Fully proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn new and emerging technologies
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and delegate duties to others
- Ability to work effectively with people
- Ability to facilitate their growth and development
- Ability to use acquired knowledge of supervisory and administrative principals and methods
- Ability to operate vehicles with a valid driver's license
