Job Summary
Participate in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a variety of settings under direct supervision of attending staff; perform procedures as directed by program directors; assume progressive responsibility based on education level and experience; communicate findings and intended interventions to supervising physicians; engage in educational and scholarly activities, including teaching and supervising residents/students; participate in department committees affecting education and patient care; develop a personal learning plan with guidance from teaching staff; adhere to hospital policies and the residency program regulations; deliver care aligned with the ACGME core competencies (Medical Knowledge, Patient Care, Professionalism, Practice-Based Learning, Systems-Based Practice, Interpersonal Communication); complete rotation evaluations, take the In-Training exam annually, follow downtime procedures, and uphold the hospital mission and nondiscrimination policy; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school
- Successful completion of USMLE/COMLEX exams parts 1 & 2
- Temporary license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois
- BLS/ACLS certification prior to beginning residency
- Current ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
