Job Summary
Medical Records / Unit Clerk role providing clerical, secretarial, and administrative support to the nursing department. Responsibilities include managing resident medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations, transcribing physician orders, maintaining unit supplies, chart management and audits, processing admissions and discharges, handling physician orders and compliance documentation, transferring vital signs and chart data, coordinating scheduling with physicians and pharmacy, and assisting with staffing logistics. Required skills include strong written and verbal communication, typing and data entry, proficiency with basic office software, and strict confidentiality of sensitive medical records. Education requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; experience with medical terminology, medical coding, and chart abstracting is highly preferred. Must be fluent in English and able to read/write; verification of a negative TB skin test is required at hire.
