Job Summary
Validate daily census information and submit reports to the Business Office and state departments weekly. Retrieve CMS monthly reports, organize discharged resident records for analysis, and ensure filing completeness. Prepare information for QA & R, maintain MD/NP schedules, and manage role assignments in the HPN system. Oversee Medical Records Assistant hiring, timecards, training, and onboarding if applicable. Maintain closed records for retrieval and proper destruction per policy. Requires an associate degree in Medical Records Technology, two years of long-term care experience, and R.H.I.T certification preferred. Located at Elderwood at Liverpool near Syracuse, NY.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Medical Records Technology or related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of long-term care experience
- Demonstrated computer skills using databases and applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
Desired Qualifications
- Education/Training in medical records processing leading to R.H.I.T certification
- Knowledge of the Standards of Ethical Coding
- Knowledge of the Value based healthcare reimbursement system and Patient-Driven Model
